hosted by Goldenrod Design & Sow and Surrender Flower Farm
It’s time to take dahlia tubers out of winter storage and begin preparing them for planting in the garden. This process can feel daunting (is that an eye or is that an eye?!). In this hands-on workshop, we’ll teach you how to effectively handle and divide dahlia tubers to take the stress out of prepping these stunning blooms. We’ll give you tips for potting them up and sprouting them at home before planting them out in the garden in late spring. Bonus: we’ll give you 3 tubers from our own collections! Scroll through the photos to see some of our varieties.
We encourage you to bring your tubers to divide and swap with others. This is an excellent way to grow your dahlia collection. No sweat if you don’t have tubers to bring. We’ll provide them.
Workshop comes with:
Three dahlia tubers
Skills to divide tubers
Tips for potting & planting
Light refreshments
Dividing supplies and tools provided. Feel free to bring your favorite pruners and snips, if you’d like.
Thursday, May 1st
